Being connected to Lotus Energy, which is our renewableenergy division. Lotus attempted to recycle solar panels,however after further research, we found out that there is norecycling facility in Australia. At the time (and still happenstoday) solar panels were being horded in warehouses andsometimes left outside, which was a huge breach on EPAlaws, or they were exported offshore to be burnt in fields ofAfrica and the left-over metal would be scraped out andsold for a profit (also very illegal).
Lotus felt there was a missing piece to the puzzle for thesolar industry's circular-economy, hence founding LotusRecycling and inventing an autonomous recycling processfor end-of-life solar panels with no chemical processingrequired for the recovery.
Since those endeavors, we have recycled panels from allover Australia with panels ranging from brand new, to panels that was made over 25 years ago. Being anestablished and trusted solar recycler in Australia, we have been invited by a European Government to build such afacility.
